To what extent do supervisors promote resilience by encouraging their staff to practice adaptive coping strategies on a regular basis?

Strategies for Supervisors:

• Teach and promote micro-practices, such as brief relaxation and grounding activities, that can be used throughout the day to manage stress.

NOTE

Refer to the resources under the Websites/Apps/Posts section in Item 10 for activities.

• Collaborate with your staff to create individualized wellness plans, preferably prior to the onset of STS symptoms.
  • An individualized wellness plan might include the answers to these questions:
    • What are my warning signs of STS?
    • What are my STS reactions?
    • What will I do to address STS and enhance my wellness during the workday (including what I will do before, during, and after stressful work experiences)?
    • What will I do to address STS and enhance my wellness when I am not at work?
    • What can my supervisor and team do to support my wellness plan?
