Strategies for Leaders:

• Be proactive in providing your staff with empathetic guidance and strategic resources that will motivate and help them thrive. To achieve this, you as a leader need to be empowered and equipped with sustainable tools and strategies.

Refer to Domain 5, “Secondary Traumatic Stress–Informed Training” domain in the STS Blueprint for more detailed information about basic and advanced trainings that are available. In addition to staff having access to training, it is just as critical for leaders to also receive training on STS so that they can better understand the impacts of and strategies to address it.
