DOMAIN 2: CREATING AND SUSTAINING A SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE CULTURE
Item 4
To what extent does the organization have clear practices in place to create and sustain individual psychological safety?
Strategies:
Communicate what safety practices are in place in the organization to new staff as part of the interviewing and onboarding processes. These should be put into place from the time when someone interview for the job.
Provide support to staff so that they do not feel isolated in doing the work.
Develop and communicate a clear process for providing outside support to staff (e.g., EAP, mental health coverage, external mental health consultant) when they need more than what a supervisor can provide.
